Research centre to benefit from University cash

Access to government funding is allowing the Kirton Research Centre in Lincolnshire to continue its role in horticultural research and offer growers meeting and conference facilities.

Funding from the Higher Education Innovation Fund, which wouldn”t have been available to the centre prior to Horticultural Research International”s merger with Warwick University, is allowing the business to develop as well as maintain applied research, says Warwick HRI”s Tracy Playle.

“We hope it will provide a hub for local growers to use the centre”s resources and facilities, as well as come and find out about our research.”
