Rising sales for healthy drinks

SCOTTISH RURAL affairs minister Ross Finnie opened Rowan Glen‘s new £3m expansion at its site near Newton Stewart this week (ending June 18).
The business, which specialises in yogurts and probiotic health drinks, is part of Dale Farm, the processing arm of Northern Irish milk co-op United Dairy Farmers.
David Dobbin, Dale Farm‘s chief executive, said sales growth of Rowan Glen‘s 150 brands was rising by 70% a year and he expected a turnover of £7m this year.
The Scottish Executive and Scottish Enterprise provided almost £1m towards the expansion.
