Standen tweaks UniPlus stone separator for easier maintenance
© Standen Engineering Standen Engineering reckons to have cut the time and hassle involved in replacing the first four star rotors on its big capacity UniPlus clod and stone separator.
Instead of easing them out from the side of the machine, the shafts now drop down from their mountings, which the company’s engineers say is a simpler and quicker process.

As Edward Gilbert, sales director of Standen, notes:
“Our focus is always on improving usability and lowering total cost of ownership, and by redesigning the way the star shafts can be removed, we’ve made essential maintenance quicker, easier and safer.”
Unlike the all-star separation Megastar, the UniPlus is available in all-web configuration for light soils, or with a combination of stars and webs – with an under-web for double sieving or infill rings and a web at the rear.

All three are available in 1.5m, 1.7m and 2.4m widths to suit different planting layouts.
And together with the lack of chassis cross beams or an axle – the steerable wheels are individually mounted on vertical axles – the machine is reckoned to consistently produce high-quality beds.
