Following the recent wet weather, wheel and tyre specialists are reporting a flurry of orders for dual wheels that will fit combines.

Articulated-tractor specialist – Amtrac – had 58 pairs of surplus wheels from imported Steigers in stock just two week’s ago. Because of their size, these were quickly snapped up by combine operators looking to limit soil damage in the current wet conditions.

Similarly, Wisbech-based Stocks Ag has seen a sudden surge in demand for its dual wheels. With an already full order book, the firm is having to work day and night to up production.
