SIMA 2009: Semi-active cab suspension from Deutz Fahr

Deutz-Fahr showed its semi-active cab-suspension, first seen in the Lamborghini R8 at the Italian EIMA show. Based on a variable damping system, it cleverly stiffens or softens the ride according to the terrain.
It does this by sending electrical current from a sensor in the cab to a magnetically-reactive liquid (basically oil with steel balls of one micron in diameter) in the suspension itself.
This changes the viscosity of the fluid, stiffening or softening the ride. Available in the Agrotron X710 and X720 (althought at SIMA it’s in the TTV630) it will soon be available throughout the range at a price of ÂŁ1500.
