Latest Amazone fert spreader monitors throw to self-adjust

Dubbed AutoSpread, it works by continually monitoring the spread pattern and tweaking settings to give perfectly even distribution.

This builds on existing ArgusTwin technology, which already tracks the direction of fertiliser throw, by adding extra sensors that can accurately measure how far it travels.
Operators don’t even need to look up any base calibration settings as the control system is permanently connected to the firm’s online Spreader Application Center.
An added party trick is the ability to detect worn or damaged vanes and notify the operator before they hamper performance.
Amazone also reckons the system could reduce the need to have spreaders professionally tested.
