Sima 2022: Sopema shows self-tip fertiliser skip

Hailing from the Champagne region, Sopema’s tipping fertiliser skip has so far only been sold to farmers close to its factory, though the firm has plans to expand further afield.

Acting as an extender for fertiliser hopper capacity, the 8,000-litre tank is carried in tandem with a regular fertiliser spreader and can be tipped using a hydraulic ram to refill its hopper when it runs low.

The main saving is time as farmers don’t need to make multiple trips away from the field and back to the yard to refill.

The simple setup has a €27,000 (£23,700) price tag, and optional extras are limited to a loading bridge and retractable tarpaulin.

There are currently no plans to manufacture the skip in alternative sizes.
