Tanco Bale Shear gains a feed bucket

Tanco’s clever Bale Shear, which slices through wrapped silage bales and also grips the plastic so that it doesn’t fall into the diet feeder, has gained another trick. It can now be fitted with a 300kg bucket to perform two jobs in one without having to take the unit off the loader.

The bucket is put on by driving the Bale Shear’s tines into two tapered recesses. When it’s fully home, a flange lines up with a pin on the back of the bale shear. It then uses the same hydraulic ram that is normally responsible for grabbing and ungrabbing the silage plastic to push a pin through the flange to hold the bucket on tightly. Cost is ÂŁ600 and the Bale Shear itself costs ÂŁ2850.
