Retrofit ‘human recognition’ system improves yard safety
© Brigade Farms and contracting businesses operating in yards crawling with staff and machines could benefit from a new retrofit system that alerts drivers to the presence of people.
The AI HFR Box, developed by machinery safety specialist Brigade, adds so-called “human form recognition” technology to existing camera kits. So, rather than investing in fresh hardware, buyers can keep their analogue camera – on the back of a loading shovel, for instance – and simply wire in the box of tricks between it and the on-board monitor.

One module can work with two cameras to sound visual and audible alerts should someone wander within a predefined detection zone. Installation is reckoned to take an hour, and a single box costs £632.
