Greater reach for new Spread-a-Bale head

A new spreading head from Spread-a-Bale should offer livestock farmers an increased throw distance and greater output when bedding.

The Horizontal Rotor (HR) features a single rotor design that produces a linear spread pattern 1m wide and to a distance of 12m.

It is an alternative spreading option to the two contra-rotating rotors on the company’s standard heads.

The rotor can fit to any of Spread-a-Bale’s M range of attachments and is available on both front- and side-mounted models. The company says straw savings of between 30% and 50% are possible with the new head.

Prices for the HR start at £12,150 on the HR Green Mini and rise to £15,000 for the galvanised HR Maxi XL.
