Tractor registrations during the month of May have increased by 19.4% on the same period last year, according to the latest figures published by the Agricultural Engineers Association.

Some 1,482 models over 50hp (the organisation’s cut-off for machines that qualify as agricultural tractors) were registered, taking 2011’s total so far to 6,400, 3.4% up on last year.

The news comes as many agricultural manufacturers are warning of extended lead times for machines due to increase worldwide demand.
