BKT adds ‘unique’ size combination to VFlecto tyre range

Another two tall traction tyres designed to create the largest footprint while fitting within the confines of a tractor’s mudguards have been added to BKT’s Agrimax VFlecto tyre range.

This VF-category line-up of tough but highly flexible tyres already runs to 69 sizes, but in developing the new 7S Mark 2 Dyna-VT tractor range, Massey Ferguson engineers wanted new size combinations, which BKT agreed to develop.

The Indian tyre maker says the combinations were developed around the tractor’s architecture, power range, typical applications and expected field performance.

There are two rear offerings – VF 650/70 R42 and VF 710/60 R44 – paired with a single front size, the VF 600/65 R30.

The different aspect ratios of the two rears, which represents the depth of the sidewall relative to the width of the carcass, maintains the same front-rear gearing relationship to avoid screwing up the transmission.

BKT describes the 2m-tall “650” combination as a versatile setup for tractors working across a number of different applications and the “710” pairing as the most distinctive configuration, being an industry-first VF 710/60 R44 for a tractor of 170-245hp.

It is designed to provide a large contact area, low-pressure inflation opportunities for field work and reassuring stability, especially in demanding applications, on slopes and during transport.
