Fendt unveils Gen 7.1 updates for 700-series
Fendt 724 tractor © Adam Clarke Fendt has refreshed its best-selling 700 Vario range with four Gen7.1 tractors – the 720, 722, 724 and 726 – that close the gap to the most powerful in the five-strong stable, the 728.
The models now span 203-262hp, plus a uniform 20hp “dynamic performance” boost previously confined to the 728.
Furthermore, the popular 724 Gen7.1 is now approved for 60kph and has gained a 23% improvement in acceleration, which Fendt says will reduce cab noise and fuel consumption versus the late Gen6s.

Its turning circle also tightens to 10.5m with the VarioDrive independent four-wheel drive system engaged, thanks to its ability to avoid driveline wind-up.
For the road, the tractors get a hydraulic auxiliary brake, “trailer brake assistant”, automatic park brake and, on 60kph machines, Fendt Stability Control.
Payload climbs to 6.2t on a gross vehicle weight of 15t, and there’s the option of integrated tyre pressure control to minimise soil compaction.
The 700 series Gen7.1 tractors are available to order now for delivery early next year. List prices start from £257,707 for a 720 and top out at £295,367 for the flagship 728.

The German maker has also revamped its 500-series Varios, with the fourth generation said to bring significant improvements in power, efficiency and technology.
Four models – the 513, 514, 515 and 516 – cover outputs from 134hp to 164hp, plus an extra 10hp boost from Agco Power’s new 5-litre, four-cylinder Core50 engine.
They herald the introduction of Fendt’s VarioDrive independent four-wheel drive system as standard across the range, with its automatic torque distribution and “pull-in turn” effect improving manoeuvrability and reducing soil damage during fieldwork.
Smart features mirror those found on the firm’s larger machines, such as the FendtOne cab and software package with integrated isobus control, precision guidance and job management tools.
Among a stack of options are fully integrated VarioGrip central tyre inflation, a reversible cooling fan, and “ground vision” LED drawbar lighting.
There’s also a new generation of Cargo and Cargo Profi front loaders with integrated weighing and memory functions, operated via a 3L-Joystick.
