Quicke So Easy wheel weights to get 38in and 42in rim options
A 125kg 'So Easy' wafer is placed into position on the master weight © Quicke Quicke is to extend its modular wheel weight range later this year to cater for larger diameter rims.
The So Easy design enables wafers to be added and removed relatively quickly – apparently in just five minutes – which the company says encourages tractor operators to alter ballasting appropriately for different tasks.

So, “all off” for routine trailer work to minimise fuel consumption and preserve the wear and service life of tyres, for example, and “all on” to obtain maximum traction from both axles for ploughing and heavy cultivation.
Adjustments between those extremes can be made as appropriate for different applications.
The system comprises a 100kg master weight fixed in place by the axle’s hub bolts, to which 50kg or 125kg wafers can be added.
These are temporarily held in position by L-shaped pins before a clamp secures the complete set using a single central bolt.
Adding one, two or three wafers each side adds 150kg, 250kg and 350kg to the axle, while a similar set of 125kg wafers adds 300kg, 550kg and 800kg.
The castellated wafers are supplied with a rack that makes them readily accessible to pallet forks for lifting and positioning them one at a time.
Later this year, Quicke is due to introduce wheel weights for rim diameters of 38in to 42in as worn by higher-powered tractors, and which will double the mass provided by the current range to 1,690kg/axle.
The So Easy tractor ballasting system complements the company’s linkage-mounted weight blocks, which are produced in different materials and with ballast box, toolbox and bumper options.
