Valtra adds 96 section control system for Isobus-ready sprayers

Valtra is offering its tractor customers an upgrade that will allow precise control of up to 96 sections on an Isobus compatible sprayer.

The so-called Section Control 96 system can also be used with seed drills, spreaders and row crop cultivators and offers far greater accuracy than previously possible with the 24 or 36-section setups.

It effectively provides individual nozzle control, and the company estimates that 5% savings on inputs are easily achievable thanks to minimised overlaps and gaps in irregular-shaped fields.

The package includes a Multiboom feature that enables automatic control of up to three booms or toolbars.

This is probably most useful on an Isobus-ready seed drill, where fertiliser can be applied accurately with one, seed with the second, and either starter fertiliser or small seeds with the third – all to centimetre accuracy.

The system runs through the firm’s SmartTouch touchscreen via the same interface. And, as before, the tractor must have Valtra Guide auto guidance and Isobus implement control.

Those with existing fourth- and fifth-generation Valtra tractors operating the Section Control 36 software will have free access to Section Control 96 after their next software update.
