Zetor works with Hattat for new 102-122hp Series 5

Czech tractor maker Zetor has unveiled a new range of “mechanically simple” models to replace its Proxima series, with the newcomers expected to go on sale later this year.

The Series 5 line-up comprises three variants, of 102hp, 113hp and 122hp, all powered by 2.8-litre FPT F28 four-cylinder engines.

These are coupled to a 24×24 speed gearbox with mechanical shuttle and splitter for the 102hp version, while the two more powerful machines also have a 24×24 transmission but with a power shuttle forward/reverse selector and two-step powershift.

They also have a larger hydraulic pump – 80-litre/min output versus 65-litre/min – and more muscular rear three-point implement lift rated at 5.5t versus 4.5t.

Simple setup

Robert Harman, CEO at Zetor Tractors in Brno, said: “Series 5 represents exactly the type of tractor many customers are looking for today – a robust, mechanical and operationally efficient machine without unnecessary complexity.”

He also revealed that the new series was developed in partnership with Hattat Traktor, a leading manufacturer in Turkey that sources its transaxles and front axles from fellow Turkish concern Hema Endustri.

“Modern agricultural machinery development is now based on combining experience, technologies and strong manufacturing partnerships,” explained Robert.

“Our goal was to return the Zetor brand to this key performance segment as quickly as possible and offer customers not only a robust, technically proven and affordable solution, but also a very strong service network and excellent spare parts availability.”

The Series 5 is being introduced in the wake of Zetor’s larger and more powerful Series 6 tractors making their debut in the UK this year.

These four machines built by Zetor span 131hp to 171hp, provided by Deutz TCD engines.
