Mitas launches heavier duty Agriterra Ultra trailer tyre

The introduction of a new range of heavier duty Mitas Agriterra trailed implement tyres has kicked off with the popular 560/60 R22.5 size for trailers, slurry tankers, manure spreaders and the like.
The Ultra line-up, which will be expanded over the coming months with additional sizes, joins three existing Agriterra designs.
They all feature steel belt reinforcement beneath the tread and hexagonal bead reinforcement.

Only the Agriterra 02 is available in the same size as the initial Ultra and this has a relatively shallow tread, broad lugs and rounded shoulders, making it best suited to working on grassland with minimal surface impact.
The Ultra newcomer’s tread pattern is similarly rounded off at the shoulders and with curved lugs running out to the shoulders either side of a blocky central portion.
On the Ultra, however, the tread is applied to a tougher carcass structure using a different rubber compound formulated for greater durability and service life.
It incorporates added reinforcement for increased lateral stability, reduced friction and heat stress, and also greater load-carrying capacity.
In comparison with the Agriterra 02 of the same size, at 3.2 bar (46psi) inflation pressure the Ultra 560/60 R22.5 has a 10.5% load capacity advantage.
For example, at up to 50kph, the Ultra carries 5,595kg versus 5,065kg, and 6,290kg versus 5,690kg when limited to 40kph.
In common with the other Agriterra designs, the Ultra is speed rated “D” to operate at up to 65kph.
