Tractor-towed TS5000 salt spreader from Vale Engineering in York is aimed at farmers who do snow-clearing work for local authorities.

It can carry seven tonnes of salt and has an auger system that gives a positive salt feed to the spreading disc to reduce the chance of bridging inside the hopper. The chassis has commercial high-speed axles with s-cam brakes, leaf spring suspension and super single tyres. There is also a universal snowplough that can be mounted on the tractor front linkage.
