There’s nothing quite like the biennial Agritechnica show in Germany to get a farm machinery fan giddy with excitement. The endless halls of shiny kit – from knapsack nozzles to crawler tractors – mean Hannover is the place to see it all.

More than half-a-million punters passed through through the gates to get a glimpse of the latest tackle, and this year’s highlights included the monster half-track Claas Axion, a methane-powered tractor from New Holland and Deutz-Fahr with a wacky hydraulically lifting and rotating cab.
