Volkswagen drives Britain’s Fittest Farmer to the finals

Two qualifiers down, one final to go. Britain’s Fittest Farmer 2026 is proving as challenging and inspiring as ever, with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles proud to be there every step (and pull) of the way.

More than 100 competitors took on demanding physical challenges at Cereals and the Lincolnshire Show, tackling tyre flips, truck pulls and sandbag carries to earn their place in the final.

Thirty-six determined finalists have made it through, all battling for this year’s title.

Britain’s Fittest Farmer has always been about more than fitness. It’s a platform for the farming community to talk openly about mental health and wellbeing – conversations that matter now more than ever.

2026 also marks the International Year of the Woman Farmer. This year’s competition reflects that spirit, with women taking on every challenge and proving that strength has no boundaries.

With the qualifiers now behind them, all eyes turn to the final at Farmers Weekly’s brand-new Harvest Festival on 26 September.

Once again, competitors will be tested by the Volkswagen Amarok in the iconic vehicle-pull challenge, built to be pushed to its limits.

The same can be said for every Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle, supporting farmers on and beyond the farm when hauling kit to a qualifier, towing a horsebox at the weekend, or getting the family away for a well-earned break.
