VW celebrates Britain’s Fittest Farmers at Diddly Squat Farm

Britain’s Fittest Farmer 2026 came to a close at Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm, with tyre flips, endurance challenges and the return of the iconic Amarok pull setting the stage for an unforgettable weekend.

Now in its ninth year, the competition brings together farmers from across the UK to celebrate strength, resilience and wellbeing.

Sponsored by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for the fourth consecutive year, it has become an important fixture in the farming calendar, championing physical fitness alongside the conversations around mental health that are so vital within the agricultural community.

After months of qualifiers and an intense final packed with strength and conditioning challenges, four winners were crowned:

• Charlotte Merson – Female Under 40
• Paul Harrison – Male Under 40
• Claire Morton – Female Over 40
• Edward Holmes – Male Over 40

Competitors pushed themselves to their limits in pursuit of the title. Among the toughest tests was the fan-favourite Amarok pull, a challenge that reflects the stamina and perseverance required both in competition and in everyday farming life.

Throughout the weekend, visitors could get up close with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ latest range, including the new Transporter Sportline, the California and the Amarok.

Built to support customers through every challenge, whether on the farm, on the road or beyond the working day, the vehicles demonstrated the capability, reliability and versatility that have made them trusted partners for businesses across the UK.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles also supported competitors with a dedicated recovery and hydration station, helping them recharge between events and reinforcing the brand’s ongoing commitment to wellbeing in the farming community.

As another successful year comes to an end, Britain’s Fittest Farmer shows that the industry’s greatest asset lies not only in physical ability, but in the community and support that bring farmers together year after year.
