Wreckers Yard: JCB Fastrac and tanker in land speed World Record attempt

Some things just don’t handle like they’re built for excessive speed. And this JCB Fastrac and tanker are a good example.

WY: JCB 1

On this tanker’s third journey out of the farm, the driver took a corner a ‘tad’ too fast and ended up looking at the hedge.

At the time, the tanker was full of liquid fertiliser and luckily it only dribbled out of the over flow pipes on top. Once emptied enough to get it back on its wheels, we could see the full damage the other side.

Luckily no one was coming the other way, but it did get wedged between the trees at a neighbour’s farm, so getting the liquid out of the back was a bit of a mission, says James, who was knocked out during the furore.

The driver, James Irving, would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused, as the B1070 in Suffolk had to be closed and the dents are still at the junction to this day.

Thanks, James, for sending these in. If you’d like to see more Wreckers Yards, click here.  If you have one you’d like to see on FWi, send the pictures and a brief description to fwmachinery@rbi.co.uk
