A wide power harrow drill without the aggro

MAKING its debut outing at Tillage was Lemken Tri-Ags Solitair 4m (13ft) power harrow drill combination.

Based on the firms Zirkon folding power harrow range, the Solitair combination system combines wide working widths with the convenience of hydraulic folding to reduce its width for transport, to less than 3m (10ft).

"Using the folding Solitair, growers can have a wide power harrow drill combination without the hassle of unhitching and moving the unit on a trailer," says Mervyn Hutton, managing director of Lemken Tri-Ag.

Drilling is via double-disc coulters and trailing press wheels, with a row spacing of 12.5cm (5in). Most seed types can be handled without changing seed metering rollers, it is claimed.

The 4m combination is priced at about £28,000.

Lemken Solitair is the firms first offering in the pneumatic drill market. A slimline hopper enables the coulters and power harrow sections to fold around it.
