ABF buys animal feed mills


ASSOCIATED British Foods (ABF) has bought six animal feed mills from Dalgety, the private company that used to be quoted.

It is understood that ABF paid about £10 million for the mills. ABF has grown sales in this sector from £79m in 1984 to £635m today.

Lanark farmers go to school

LANARKSHIRES 1200 farmers are bidding to spread the word on their produce with a sales campaign pitched directly at the regions 55 secondary schools.

Fir Park, the home of Motherwell Football Club, was the venue for the “Lanark Larder” venture, which was started more than two years ago.

It seeks to advise the schoolchildren of the region on the long-term benefits of eating naturally produced Scottish foods.
