ABF sugar and animal feeds interests ‘hit’

ASSOCIATED British Foods (ABF) British Sugar subsidiary will have been affected by the recent valuations of the Green Pound that have depressed sugar prices.

Its animal feed operations have suffered from a mild winter and the recent bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) crisis.

ABF is due to announce its interim results today. Analysts expect pre-tax profits of £180m-£190m.
