All change at Countryside Alliance

CHARLES Goodson-Wickes has resigned from the Countryside Alliance and will leave at the end of the year.

His resignation follows the departure last month of press officer Janet George, who signed a letter of no-confidence in the new chief executive Edward Duke.

Duke wants the organisation to diversify into a “mosaic of the countryside”.

The departures have deepened divisions at the organisation.

Goodson-Wickes will be replaced by John Jackson, a board member and chairman of Ladbroke Group and Mishcon de Reya. Bill Andrewes is the new vice-chairman.
