All-round changes to chamber balers

TWO variable chamber round balers join the equipment line-up available from Greenland UK. Designated the RV157 and RV187, the new models are based on the companys 156 and 186 balers – which they replace – yet have significant improvements.

Maximum bale diameter when baling straw is 1.5m and 1.8m (5ft and 6ft) respectively but, when working in silage each models variable chamber allows a standard 1.2m (4ft) diameter bale to be made.

Major changes from the earlier balers includes the use of a simple electronic control system enabling the operator to control the baling operation from the cab. The Autoform system includes a bale shape monitor, controls an optional crop chopping Opticut system and allows a switch between string and net wrapping.

Greenland says it has made several other minor changes to the balers particularly in the feed roller department where problems could occur when baling wet silage.

Price of the basic twine only RV157 is listed at £19,235, while a full spec RV187 with twine, net and Opticut unit carries a price of £28,440. &#42

Greenlands new variable chamber RV187 goes through its paces. Maximum bale diameter is 1.8m (6ft).
