Anger at collapse of NZ dairy merger


THE New Zealand government and the farmers have criticised the failure of plans to create a united diary industry to promote exports.

It had been planned to merge the New Zealand Dairy Board with the two biggest farmer-owned co-operatives, the New Zealand Dairy Group and Kiwi Dairies.

This would have handled most of the countrys 1.7bn export trade.
