Anti-GM expert joins internet grocer

MARKS & SPENCER has lost its food expert who advised the store to remove genetically modified products from its shelves.

Dr Tom Clayton, who was with Marks for 29 years, has quit to become chief scientific adviser at internet grocery company LM Solutions, reports the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the same newspaper assesses which organic ranges are worth paying extra for.

The top organic foods, according to the Mail, are; apples, carrots, lettuce, celery, chocolate, tea, coffee, bananas, poultry, milk and wholemeal bread.

It gives the thumbs down to organic biscuits, dried herbs, virgin olive oil, cola, salt, ketchup and stock cubes.
