John Deeres 6850 – one of four new self-propelled forage harvesters introduced for next season – made its debut at the Irish National Ploughing Championships. The £154,000 machine uses Deeres 12.5-litre PowerTech engine to deliver 440hp at rated speed, with a further 40hp in reserve for when the going gets tough. Where more power is required, the firms 6950 has up to 540hp available.
