• QUENTIN McKellar, director of the Edinburgh-based Moredun Research Institute, has won the RASEs Bledisloe Vet Award. Prof McKellar has been heavily involved in development of antibiotics, anthelmintics and pain relieving therapies for the purpose of improving animal health.

Pig consultant Bernard Peet advises those seeking a loan to draw up a full financial justification for the project including assumptions on performance and cost improvements. A sensitivity analysis showing the effect of prices on its viability should add further weight to the application, he adds.
