1 What are you studying?
A Bsc (Hons) in agriculture with countryside management at Aberystwyth.
2 How many hours of lectures do you have a week?
About 12 not including practicals (about two afternoons a week).
3 Whats your favourite subject?
Organic/environmental stuff or European policy.
4 What subject do you like least?
I hate business. Its so hard to get your head around it in the time available.
5 What are your hobbies?
I am in Radnorshire Young Farmers, which I couldnt be without. I always seem to be going out somewhere. In uni, Im a member of the Agricultural Society. I love watching rugby. You cant be in Aber and not watch rugby.
6 Whats the accommodation like?
Uni accommodation is basic but like anything its what you make it. The houses in town are OK, but you have to look around because some can be really dodgy. This year we are living in university flats in town which are really smart, but much more expensive.
7 Whats a typical night out?
All nights are different. Maybe a pub crawl. The student bars are OK. The small one on our campus is the nicest because everyone knows each other.
8 Whats your favourite CD?
Anything by Stereophonics.
9 Whats the best thing about college?
The social life is great. Everyone at home, however, thinks that uni is a doss. It isnt. I had to work really hard last year, probably as hard as I did for my A levels. It isnt all partying.
10 Whats the worst thing about college?
Having to pay accomodation and tuition fees. Its disgusting when you think you have to pay at least £3000 before you start on spending money. Its not right that we will come out of uni with £10,000 of debt before we start our careers. Because of the way that farming is, many of our parents cant afford to help us.
