Waterlogging made supplementary feeding difficult at Pen-y-Ochr, Llangurig in Powys, where ewes carrying singles are still grazing outside. The solution for Edward and Eunice Wozencraft was to shift troughs and hay racks to a small quarry on the hill farm. The area is sheltered and has firm underfoot conditions. The partners, who feature regularly in farmers weeklys Management Matters, hope reducing poaching will mean more grass for ewes and lambs, if the weather allows them to spread early bite compound fertiliser.
