uEXMOOR Farmers Livestock Auctions has held its first video sale of suckled calves and young store cattle off Exmoor at Cutcombe, Somerset, last week. About 80% of stock sold, with satisfactory prices – Charolais steers with two beef special claims ranged from £400 to £470. Steers with one BSP claim sold to £385. Heifers ranged from £200 for younger sorts to a top of £335. More video sales are planned.
uAUCTIONEER Halls has announced two on-farm sales next month in Shropshire. The first is a cattle auction at Mock Hall, Grafton, Montford Bridge, on Sept 6 and will include 97 Holstein Friesian cows and 61 store cattle, including 12 pedigree Limousins. Two days later, 134 pedigree Texels from the Wollascott Texels flock, owned by Steve and Caroline Williams, will be up for grabs. The sale will be held on Sept 8 at Great Wollascott Farm. *
