Art of enjoying the capital
Art of enjoying the capital
ISNT it about time you had a day out? Its the perfect excuse for a day out in London – an interesting exhibition of landscapes of Britain (see below) in support of British farming.
Why not look for travel offers from your area and enjoy this free exhibition – The British Landscape at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1. Organised by the Society of Landscape Painters it is a tribute to the generations of farmers who have created and cared for our beautiful countryside.
FWC members are invited to the exhibition on Sept 4 at 2pm when an artist will give a talk, and tea can be served at the gallery if pre-booked.
What better opportunity to make a day of it and do a bit of sight-seeing – perhaps catch an open-topped tourist bus to take you around the main attractions of the capital. You could visit Buckingham Palace (opens at 9.30am) and the Royal Mews (open in the afternoon) both nearby, do a bit of shopping or perhaps enjoy a stroll in St Jamess Park.
The exhibition is being held from Sept 4 to Sept 9, all works will be for sale with commission going to farming charities.
