Asda announces 450m expansion

ASDA supermarket chain, which is owned by Wal-Mart, has announced that it is investing 450 million in new stores this year, reports The Independent.
The expansion will see 13 new stores, including four rebuilt or resited, and create 5000 jobs.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express reports that Asda is emerging victorious in its price war with fierce rival Tesco.
According to a survey by Which? magazine, shoppers rated Asda the place to go for low prices and value for money.
Tesco was beaten into third place by Waitrose in the survey of 6000 shoppers.
