Aventis animal nutrition sale ‘close’
By FWi staff
LIFE science company Aventis is close to selling its animal nutrition business to CVC Capital partners, reports the Financial Times.
A deal to sell the business for about 300 million (187m on 25 April) could be concluded within the coming weeks, says the newspaper.
The animal nutrition unit was earmarked for sale early last year.
Over the past 20 years CVC has invested US$30bn to become one of Europes leading private equity firms, reports the FT.
In a separate development, Aventis has reduced the number of potential buyers for its agrochemicals business CropScience.
Schering, a German group with a minority share in CropScience, said three candidates remained from a starting list of five.
The sale of both businesses would end Aventis involvement in agro activities.
