AXIS has announced its autumn milk price, after a lengthy round of negotiations.

Communications manager Jonathan Horrell confirmed on Thursday (9 November) a 1.5ppl price rise, which takes the standard litre price to 18p.

The new price will be paid on all milk produced from 1 October and producers can expect to receive October milk cheques by the end of next week, says Mr Horrell.

The company has also revealed that it is holding exclusive negotiations with Milk Marque to buy Aeron Valley Cheese.

The Lampeter, West Wales site produces high quality Welsh Cheddar.

The move follows a capital raising exercise in September, when Axis 3000 members were offered preference shares.
