Banning swill is not the answer
WHILE I agree with the outlawing of livestock movement within 21 days, I feel the governments reaction to banning pigswill is missing the point.
Feeding of swill may have been the way it got into the UK livestock population, but banning does not answer the question of how the virus got into the country.
Is this another political decision to protect the feed
manufacturers – who have proved untrustworthy by producing feed for vegetarian creatures with animal products in it – or just another knee-jerk reaction that has not been thought out.
