Bare arable test

A 453-acre block of bare Yorks arable land will be an interesting test of demand in the region, according to FPDSavills agent Andrew Black.

Valued at just over £1.2m, Brackenholme Farm, near Selby, has a mixture of Grade 1-3 soils and is being offered in four lots.

The smallest parcel is the most expensive at £3100/acre, mainly because its 72.5 acres are predominantly Grade 1 and have the potential to grow vegetables, says Mr Black. &#42

All of the land is also fresh to potatoes so there is no risk of disease carry over.
