Beef ban likely to be lifted piecemeal, says Cunningham

Jack Cunningham, agriculture minister, said the European ban of British beef
could still be in force in a years time. He told BBC TVs On the Record
he did not know when the ban might be lifted but it was likely to be done
piecemeal.

He said the possibility of maternal transmission of BSE had put in jeopardy
his attempts to get European clearance to export animals younger than 10 months.
