Belted Galloway find it tough in the market too

The Belted Galloway is suffering along with the rest of the cattle market, reports The Scotsman.

Heifers which normally would have sold to Germany at 1500 gns were now being sold for 300 or 350 gns.

The breed was once rare but is now in the 750 to 1400 range. There are around 500 head registered worldwide with the society in this country having around 250 to 300 breeding adults.
