BREEDERS had the chance to secure rare bloodlines andsome excellent blacks when the adult portion of the Cailaich fold of Highland cattle was dispersed for A MacCuish, Isle of Mull.

And it was the black cow Ribhinn Og 19th of Cailaich that led the day at 2100gns. This four-year-old cow heads for Renfrew-shire with P S Taylor.

The 1992-bred black bull Jason 2nd of Applecross made 1900gns to Philip Herd, Tayinloan and there were black heifers to 1650gns and an eight-year-old black cow at 1000gns. (United Auctions)
