Bolivian farms thrive on worms

PEASANT farmers in Bolivia are managing to develop healthy agricultural production on the back of worms and vegetables, reports The Guardian.

The worms eat animal dung to produce a fertile humus in which the vegetables are grown.

In the past two years, agricultural production in the community has risen 25%, the quality of the polluted soil has improved and sickness has decreased.
