Brussels ‘close to’ SRM climbdown

THE European Commission has signalled it is close to abandoning its fight for an early ban on potentially infectious animal parts.

It means that a European Union-wide enforced ban on SRMs in some countries from next January is extremely unlikely — and there are now increasing doubts whether a ban will ever be implemented.
