BSE cull backlog ahead of compensation cut


THE anticipated 11% cut in BSE cull compensation cash has sparked a rush to the slaughterhouses and a backlog of around 30,000 cattle in the queue, reckon the NFU and the RSPCA. Incentives to keep cattle awaiting the cull in good condition have now been removed, says the RSPCA.
