BSE hits Irish research station


A HERD of 550 cattle will be destroyed at Moorepark research station, Co Cork, after a cow was found to be suffering from BSE. Irish attempts to re-open its export markets will be knocked back.

BSE is declining in Ireland, but it has still been the second-worst hit country in the EU, after Britain.
