BST is not a good idea, says boffin
INJECTING cows with bovine somatotrophin (BST) at frequent intervals seems “unnecessarily crude” when compared to other methods of raising milk yields, writes a professor of animal health in a letter to The Times.
The professor, from the University of Aberdeen, concludes that Europe does not need BST.
