BTP hit by weak agrochemical sales
WEAK agrochemical sales pulled down BTPs pre-tax profits to a flat 53.6m for the year to 31 March, leaving aside the 58.3m profit that the company made on the sale of its safety harness division.
But BTP said the performance of Archimica in Italy, bought for 100m last year, and Hexchimie in France, bought for 55m, was ahead of expectations.
Shares in the group rose strongly as it revealed the first fruits of its new emphasis on pharmaceutical ingredients and leather chemicals.
