Bull promotion second phase

FOUR bulls have been chosen for the second phase of the MLCs young bull promotion scheme.

They are Devon bull Glebe Trojan, owned by John Spooner, Great Rissington, Glos; Aberdeen Angus Tegsnose Karmen, owned by Genus but bred by Messers Maurice and Hammill of Macclesfield, Cheshire; Sussex bull Holm Place Major from Mr and Mrs Lewis, Sheerness, Kent; and the Limousin Feneyhouse Nelson, owned by Richard Oates and bred by Mr Adams, Banbridge, Northern Ireland. All are in the top 1% of their breed for Beef Value.

Under the scheme, bulls must be in the top 10% of their breed for Beef and Calving Value and their nomination must be approved by the breed society. For each bull selected, 100 straws of semen will be distributed, free of charge, to at least 20 different pedigree herds, each of which must be a member of Signets Beefbreeder service. &#42
